Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Skintellect mobile application ("the app"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Important — not medical advice. Skintellect provides general, educational information about cosmetic ingredients. It is not medical, dermatological, or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for consulting a qualified healthcare professional. Ingredient assessments are generated automatically and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Always read the product's own label and consult a professional before using a product if you have a skin condition, allergy, are pregnant, or have any concern.

1. The service

Skintellect lets you scan a cosmetic product's ingredient label with your camera, reads the ingredient list on your device, and returns an automated, educational assessment of those ingredients along with references. Results are informational only.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and to Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement (EULA), which also applies to your use of the app. Where these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict, these Terms govern to the extent permitted.

3. Subscriptions and billing

The app offers a limited number of free scans. Continued use of premium features requires a paid subscription.
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account. Price, billing period, and any free trial are shown in the app before you purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including: reverse-engineering or tampering with it except as allowed by law; interfering with or overloading our servers; using it unlawfully; or relying on it as a diagnosis or treatment tool.

5. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its content (excluding third-party scientific references) are owned by the developer and protected by law. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. Scientific references are attributed to their sources (for example, PubMed) and remain the property of their respective owners.

6. Third-party content and services

Assessments are produced with the help of third-party services, and scientific references are sourced from public databases such as PubMed. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, and links to external sources are provided for convenience only.

7. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that ingredient assessments are complete, correct, or suitable for your situation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decision you make based on information provided by the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. If mandatory liability applies, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes

We may update the app and these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes to these Terms will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or misuse the service.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where local mandatory consumer-protection law grants you stronger rights. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
